Game of Thrones‘ eighth and final season has ended the lives of many of its most beloved characters, and one of those deaths was particularly controversial because of the events that led up to it. Missandei’s capture and eventual execution was both a major emotional trigger for Daenerys and Greyworm, as well as a quasi-foreshadowing of what would become of King’s Landing.
I guess you could also make a strong argument that the show had fridged Missandei — not exactly the most woke of plot devices– and I would be inclined to agree with that notion. It was nonetheless a memorable moment, and I liked the quiet defiance on her face when she realized that it was all over.
