The Wisdom of Kirk #1

Trek fans will have noticed that @WilliamShatner has started tweeting about cryptocurrencies and blockchains this month. Obviously I was delighted to have such a high-profile name talking about this stuff openly, and it reminded me of all the killer monologues Capt. Kirk was known for in the old show.

This cartoon is a parody of a particularly poignant monologue from “Metamorphosis,” an episode that was originally aired in 1967, during which Kirk and the crew of the Enterprise have to explain some interesting concepts about humanity to a mysterious alien entity. (It also features a young Zefram Cochrane, for the really hardcore fans.) Kirk explains why a life with no hardships isn’t necessarily a good idea, and I think it’s great advice … even for cryptocurrencies.

As always, your donations help me to keep creating this stuff regularly, so if you liked this portrait, please consider supporting my work by sending some coins to any of the addresses below.
